Bible Studies
We welcome you to check out the following Bible Study opportunities.
- PB with PB: Pizza and Bible Study with Pastor Beth. Thursdays @ 1:00pm.
All are invited to come for a late lunch of pizza and be part of the Bible
study. Bible study topics vary each week and tangents and questions are
welcomed. You don’t even need to bring your own Bible because Pastor Beth
will read the passage for the day. Bibles are available if needed. For more
information: Contact Rev. Beth Macha. Invite her to be your Facebook friend.
- Prayer 101: Tuesdays at 4:00pm. Where do I begin? Why do we pray? How do
I pray? Sometimes we don’t know how to pray when the need is there. This
Bible study will examine some different prayers found in scripture. We will
also use some creative ways to pray such as prayer bracelets, yoga and
walking a labyrinth. Come and learn more about this basic Christian
practice. For more information: Contact Rev. Beth Macha. Invite her to be your Facebook friend.
- Lord of the Rings: Wednesdays at 4:00pm. The Lord of the Rings trilogy
is a moral fantasy pitting good against evil in a world where wizards care
for human kind, where dwarfs mine mountains, where elves preserve beauty and
where orcs, trolls and urak-hai serve a dark master. These movies show dark
battling light; evil struggling against good; pride fighting with humility
and despair wrestling with hope. In this Bible study, Sean Cornell, Peer
Minister, will lead discussion on some of these themes. What do these films
say about the struggle for virtue, the providence of God and the noble power
of the story? More info: contact Sean at
cornsw05@uwgb.edu.
